The San Fernando Valley is a wonderful place to live. There is a population of about 1,808,599 residents as of the 2004 census data out of 4,021,611 occupying some 345 square miles of area. Thus, the San Fernando Valley population is almost 45% of the total population of the City of Los Angeles. The San Fernando Valley became a part of the City of Los Angeles when it was annexed in 1915. The Valley is home to dozens of Zagat Rated Restaurants, theaters, clubs and caberets. Many Golf Courses exist for sport along with numerous Parks and Recreation Centers. The San Fernando Valley is home the Tilman Water Reclamation plant located in the Sepulveda Dam Recreation Area, which includes the Japanese Tea House and Gardens.

There are nearly 500,000 take offs and landings each year at the airport. Burbank Airport is a regional Airport adjacent to North Hollywood with over 5 million passengers per year. Whiteman Air Park located in the northeast of the SFV is a small private aviation airstrip.
